Overview
The problem
Running a YouTube channel takes hours per video: research, scripting, voiceover, editing, thumbnails and uploads, every week.
What I did
Drift is a do-it-for-me YouTube studio for people who want a channel but not a production hobby. They say what the channel is about, connect YouTube and turn on autopilot.
From there it runs the whole production line: topic research, a retention-first script, neural voiceover, stock footage and animated infographics, captions, music, a thumbnail and a scheduled upload, week after week. It tracks how each video performs and feeds that back into what it makes next.
It’s a full multi-customer product, with Google sign-in, Stripe subscriptions and a deliberately simple dashboard that exposes three controls and hides everything else until it’s needed.
Key decisions
- 01
Three controls, everything else hidden
The home screen shows autopilot, videos per week and channel focus. Everything else stays out of the way until it’s needed.
- 02
The whole production line
Topic research, scripts, voiceover, footage, animated infographics, captions, music, thumbnails and scheduled uploads.
- 03
Review before it posts
Finished videos wait for approval, so the owner stays in control without doing the work.
- 04
Learns what works
Performance from each video feeds into what Drift makes next.
