Overview

The problem

Flower orders are usually urgent and usually made on a phone, but the existing site looked dated, was awkward on mobile and made ordering harder than it needed to be.

What I did

An established florist delivering across Melbourne’s north, whose website had fallen behind the quality of their flowers.

The redesign gives the site a cleaner visual identity, a properly mobile-first layout and a simpler ordering flow, with the WooCommerce store rebuilt and tidied so it’s easier to order from and easier to manage.

This is a redesign proposal. The business name, logo and contact details have been changed.

Key decisions

  1. 01

    Shop by occasion first

Most people know why they’re buying before they know what. Birthday, sympathy, new baby and more sit right under the hero.

  2. 02

    Delivery timing up front

The same-day cut-off is in the top bar and on every product, answering the most common question before anyone has to call.

  3. 03

    Simpler product pages

Size, optional extras with clear prices, and one add-to-cart button. Delivery and substitution details fold away until needed.

  4. 04

Built for ordering on a phone

Large tap targets and an add-to-cart bar that stays on screen while customers scroll.
